LedgerTouch explains how money works and shows the arithmetic. It does not tell you what to do with yours.
Not financial advice
Everything on LedgerTouch, including the research on the blog, the portfolio tracker and any AI-generated summary inside it, is general information for education. None of it is a personal recommendation, and none of it takes account of your circumstances, objectives, tax position or attitude to risk. Nothing here is an offer, solicitation or inducement to buy, sell or hold any investment or financial product.
LedgerTouch is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and does not give regulated advice. If you need advice on your own situation, speak to a qualified, FCA-authorised financial adviser. You can check whether a firm or adviser is authorised on the Financial Services Register. Free, impartial guidance is available from MoneyHelper, and people aged 50 or over with a defined contribution pension can book a free Pension Wise appointment.
Investing carries risk
The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you put in. Past performance, including every historical return, back-test and simulation we publish, is not a reliable indicator of future results. Worked examples use stated assumptions; your own results will differ. Currency movements can change the value of overseas investments, and some assets, such as crypto-assets, are high risk, largely unregulated in the UK and can lose all of their value.
Tax rules depend on you and can change
Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and may change in future. Figures for allowances, rates and thresholds are correct as at the date stated in each article, and articles about announced or proposed changes say whether a measure is confirmed or not. Some articles cover rules that apply only in the United States; they say so. Where a tax decision matters, check the current position on GOV.UK or with a qualified tax adviser.
Data and accuracy
Every figure in our research is taken from a named source, usually a regulator, statistical agency, company filing or the original study, and each article lists its sources. Data can be revised after publication and market data in the tracker may be delayed. We work to get things right and correct mistakes openly under our corrections policy, but we cannot guarantee that every figure is complete, current or free of error. How we research and check articles is set out in the editorial policy.
Advertising and independence
The blog may carry display advertising served by Google AdSense. We do not choose which advertiser appears beside an article, and an advertisement is not an endorsement of the advertiser or its products. There are no affiliate links, and no article is sponsored or paid for. Advertising has no influence on what we publish. How advertising uses cookies, and how to refuse them, is explained in the cookie policy and the privacy policy.
Links to other sites
Articles link to the third-party sources they rely on. We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of those sites.
Liability
You are responsible for your own financial decisions. To the extent permitted by law, LedgerTouch is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information on this site. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any liability that cannot be limited under the law. The full terms of use are in the terms of service.
